COPY CARD MACHINE

How to remove a copy card jam from the CopyCard Machine?

  • Get a copy card

  • Press 'START' on the menu screen

  • Place card in dispenser slot (on top of the jammed card)

  • Press ‘CANCEL’ on the menu screen until the stuck card comes out

    • OR call TLC

PRINTER

If patron loses money from the printer/CopyCard Machine?

  • reimburse with Equipment Malfunction Form

    • located in middle drawer at the front desk

  • library staff member must sign the form

  • patron must take the form to McKeldin within 3 days to receive the refund

EMERGENCY LIGHTS

If red/blue emergency lights flash continuously?

  • RED : emergency exit door between the top and middle floor is open. Use the 'Emergency Exit Key' to re-lock the door.

  • BLUE : door in the stairwell is open. This does NOT need to be locked.

PANIC BUTTON

Panic Button (located under left front desk) is stuck?

  • Reset tool is located in the USB cabinet, labeled 'Panic Button Pull Out.' Use this tool to physically pull out the panic button. The alarm system will NOT work if a panic button is currently being pulled out.

POWER OUTAGE

If there's an extended power outage?

  • Call Work-Control to see if they have an update on the situation and Notify Alla

  • Evacuate the library by following the Evacuation Procedures if needed.

LOST AND FOUND

Where's our Lost and Found?

  • The library's lost and found next to Ms.Balannik's mailbox.

  • The building's lost and found is located in RM 1206

AFFILIATES

A patron has an 'Affiliates Card', but he/she is not in the ALEPH system?

  • Refer them to the Special Borrower's Office in McKeldin

  • Affiliate Cards does not always mean they have borrowing privileges if their group has not organized such privileges with the library.

    • Cards are given to people affiliated with various organizations/departments.

LATE NIGHT STUDY @ McKELDIN

You guys close too early, is there anywhere else I can go?

  • McKeldin Library is open 24/7 except Friday and Saturday.

    • Students must carry their UID between 11pm-8am in order to be admitted or stay in the building.

BILLING FINES

A patron has a question about their billing statement?

  • Billing Statements are billed to the patron's account, and must be paid online. We do not accept billing fines.

  • The Billing Resolution Request Form : located in the right most drawer at the front desk. Have it filled it and given to Alla.

    • Or, direct the patron to Alla right away.

TRANSFERING PHONE CALLS

How do I transfer phone calls to different departments?

  • (Instructions are also by the phone)

    1. Pick up the line

    2. Hit Transfer [GREY button labeled 'T']

    3. Dial extension # [ex) Alla's is 5-9081]

    4. MAKE SURE SOMEONE PICKS UP OR THERE IS A MESSAGE RECORDING

    5. Hit Complete [GREY button labeled 'C']

    6. Hang Up
